CHICAGO (STMW) – A 16-year-old boy died in a shooting within two blocks of his home Wednesday night in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
Darren Foggey was shot about 9:25 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Artesian Avenue, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Foggey, of the 6900 block of South Artesian Avenue, was in a bedroom when a bullet went through a window and struck him in the neck, authorities said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:40 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.
A police source said the teen was gang affiliated.
