Southwest Side Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Bar Stabbing
STICKNEY TWP. Ill. (STMW) -- A Southwest Side man has been charged with stabbing a man during a bar fight last week in unincorporated Stickney.
Jorge Rivera-Camacho, 36, is charged with attempted murder and is being held on $750,000 bond for the stabbing that happened about 9:45 p.m. on July 20, according to a statement from the Cook County Sheriff's office.
A 48-year-old man intervened in an argument that Rivera-Camacho had gotten into with another person at a bar in the 4800 block of South Central Avenue, the statement said.
Rivera-Camacho allegedly went outside to a parked vehicle, returned to the bar and stabbed the 48-year-old once in the chest with a knife.
He ran away but was soon arrested, police said. The knife was recovered.
The man who was stabbed was taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't thought to be life-threatening, police said.
Rivera-Camacho, of the 4300 block of South Keating Avenue, is next scheduled to appear in court Aug. 14 in Bridgeview.
