(CBS) The Yankees and White Sox continue to discuss a trade that would send Chicago left-hander John Danks to New York ahead of tomorrow’s 3 p.m. trade deadline, CBSSports.com reported.
The holdup is over what the Yankees would send back to the White Sox, according to the report. The sides could also be discussing how much of the more than $30 million Danks has left on his contract that each team would pick up.
Danks is 9-6 with a 4.40 ERA this season, having pitched much better since late May, but his decreased velocity has concerned some scouts. Still, the Yankees are in desperate need of another arm after their rotation has been ravaged by injuries.
Danks will have two years left on what was originally a five-year, $65-million contract.
