Watch This: Stuntman Takes Roof Jump On North Side
By John Dodge
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Professional stunt man Ethan Swanson took a flier off a rooftop in Chicago.
Swanson's video is posted on the GoPro You Tube channel.
It was published two days ago and already has more than 375,000 views.
Expect a lot more.
The video shows Swanson making careful preparations, rehearsing landing spots and takeoff points.
Watch as he leaps from a four-flat roof, onto a standard angled roof of a home next door and then slide down onto an outdoor spiral staircase.
Via Reddit, Swanson confirmed the jump happened in the 1800 block of North Sheffield.
A Brown Line train passes by in the background.
There is even an obligatory knuckle crack before the jump begins.
"I did hurt myself," he said on Reddit. "No broken bones. I strapped 4 shin guards on my left leg and arm, but the area in between those got shredded. I also bruised my right heel."
Swanson also has appeared on a recent episode of American Ninja Warrior.
