(CBS) — Musician Devonte Hynes, who performs under the name “Blood Orange,” accused security guards at Lollapalooza of jumping him and assaulting his girlfriend shortly after his performance at the festival Friday night.
Hynes tweeted that security guards grabbed his girlfriend’s neck and then grabbed him by the neck and threw him to the ground. He said that both he and his girlfriend were hurt and they would be filing charges.
In a statement to the music website Pitchfork, Lollapalooza said, “Late Friday night, we learned of an incident involving an artist and a security guard on site. Since then, we have been in contact with those involved and the authorities, as we work together to resolve the situation. As always, our top priority is to ensure the safety of everyone at the festival.”
