A police spokeswoman says an officer was forced to fire his gun. The person he was trying to stop got away.

Near that scene, police say, officers found the body of a 32-year-old man. He's been shot in the abdomen. According to police, a 21-year-old man who was shot in the stomach was taken to Northwester Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

This all happened outside the Bodi nightclub. Police say a weapon was recovered at the scene.

Police told CBS 2 that a fight broke out at the club. Witnesses told CBS 2's Mike Puccinelli that the fight was over a girl, which police could not confirm.

Witnesses also reported hearing at least half a dozen shots and that they apparently saw two shooters involved.

The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating this case - because a police officer discharged his weapon.
