NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. (CBS) – Three men were shot Thursday morning in a north suburban alley and officers from several police departments were searching for the suspect.

Two of the men, who were shot in an alley behind 22nd Street and Hervey Avenue in North Chicago about 10:30 a.m., were being treated for minor wounds at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan, officials said.

A third victim was in stable condition at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Chief Ed Haras said deputies are assisting with the investigation.

“The tactical team is on location for officer safety,” he said. “We are still looking for the suspects.”

Police from North Chicago, and Great Lakes Naval Station police, and a Waukegan K9 unit were among the departments assisting with the search Thursday morning.
