Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford says it happened shortly after noon at the Allied Medical building at 2000 South Canal.
“Got on the scene and discovered a construction worker working for a roofing firm took a fall through the roof of the building falling somewhere between 20 and 30 feet to the area below,” Langford said.
Langford said the man who is around 50-years-old was alert and talking, but listed in serious to critical condition by the paramedic team which took him to Stroger County Hospital.
The worker was employed by Addison Construction.
