Teen Accidentally Backs Up Over Toddler Brother

CHICAGO (CBS) — A tragic accident in Joliet over the weekend.

WBBM’s Regine Schlesinger reports, Joliet police say a 15-year-old boy with his learner’s permit had been asked to move his family’s SUV out of their driveway on Saturday afternoon.

What he didn’t know was that his 2-year-old brother had run out of the house and apparently was trying to get into the passenger side when the car started moving.

Police said as the 15-year-old began pulling out, he heard a thump and found Alex Marivilla on the ground.

The family called 911, but Alex died at the hospital.

Police said it was a tragic accident.
