Man Charged With Shooting Girlfriend In Austin In July

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Bond was set at $500,000 Wednesday for a man charged with attempted murder for shooting his girlfriend in both legs during an argument last month in the West Side Austin neighborhood, police said.

Kenny Scott, 20 of the 4800 block of West Quincy Street, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

Scott was arrested after he was identified as the man who shot his 20-year-old girlfriend during an argument, according to police.

About 11:20 p.m. on July 5, Scott shot the woman in both legs, police said. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition.

A judge set bond at $500,000 for Scott on Tuesday, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office. He is scheduled to appear in court again Thursday.
