(CBS) The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are bringing Richie Incognito in for a visit today and could sign him if it goes well, Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer reported. Incognito hasn’t been at an NFL facility since being suspended by the Dolphins last November for his role in a bullying scandal, according to Glazer.
The Bucs are coached by former Bears coach Lovie Smith.
Incognito’s suspension was lifted in February, but Miami allowed him to walk in free agency, and no teams showed serious interest in the heart of free agency season.
An investigation by lawyer Ted Wells that was released in February faulted Incognito for being a ringleader in the harassment of Martin. Included in Incognito’s inappropriate behavior were racial slurs and homophobic insults that were directed at Martin, as well as consistent taunting. Martin left the team with emotional distress.
