Man Breaks Into Home In Flossmoor, Sexually Assaults Woman

(STMW) -- A man broke into a woman's south suburban home over the weekend and sexually assaulted her in her bedroom before demanding money, the victim told police.

The incident happened about 12:10 a.m. Sunday on the 1200 block of Douglas Avenue in Flossmoor. The victim told police a man cut open her kitchen window screen to get into her home.

Once inside, he entered the victim's bedroom and sexually assaulted her, then demanded money and ran away, according to a statement from Flossmoor police.

According to police, the attacker is described as a black man 30-35, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet with a medium build, wearing grey sweat pants and black shirt.

Police said no vehicle was seen leaving the area after the attack. The attacker remains at-large.

The area is a residential neighborhood with no street lights other than the ones in front of each home. The incident took place less than a block away from the Flossmoor Village Hall, which houses the village police and fire department.
