Fire Destroys Home In Cicero

CICERO (CBS) -- A fire in west suburban Cicero left a house destroyed early Wednesday.

Fire companies from Cicero and surrounding towns were still at the scene about 4 a.m. fighting a blaze at a home in the 3600 block of South 61st Avenue, CBS 2's Mike Puccinelli reports.

The house could be seen fully engulfed in flames at 3:22 a.m., with at least parts of the roof and walls burnt down.

The home's owner, Tiger O'Stylie, said he left his home about 3 a.m. to help close a bar he owns in town.

When he was told by police about the fire, he rushed back to see his home of 40 years engulfed in flames.

The home next door was also damaged.

"That thing was totally involved," said Chris Casetta. "It's a wood-frame house. Those things go up like tinder."

Nobody was injured in either home. The cause of the fire was not yet known.
