Teen Is Second Person Charged In Retired Cop's Death

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 16 year old boy is the second person charged in the home invasion and murder of a retired Chicago police sergeant.

They're accused of attacking 73-year-old Elmer Brown in March.

Police say the teens entered the house near 115th and Avenue G through an unlocked door.

The suspects knocked Brown's wife to the floor and demanded the family safe.

Elmer gave it over, but they shot him in the face and neck anyway.

Brown died two weeks later.

His care-giver said Brown was blind, and his wife suffered from dementia.

The other suspect is 18-year-old Jesse Kazmierski who is being held without bond. The name of the 16-year-old suspect was not released.

Police are still searching for a third suspect.
