5 NFL Week 3 JB Locks Against The Spread

by Jake Brown (@JBSportsRadio)

Week 2 gave us a major surprise in the Browns' upset of the Saints. Millions of people were knocked out in survivor pools worldwide. Week 2 treated me a bit better than Week 1. After going 1-4 in my Week 1 locks, I improved to 3-2 last week, making it a 4-6 start to the season. Week 3 has plenty of duds, but does have a couple great games, including a Super Bowl rematch in Seattle. Here's my NFL Week 3 locks against the spread.

1. Colts (0-2) at Jaguars (0-2) (+7.5)

When all else fails, pick against the Jaguars. They were trounced by 31 points by Kirk Cousins and the Redskins last week. Their offensive line is making Chad Henne's job a nightmare, and he probably won't have a starting job much longer with Blake Bortles looking over his shoulder. The Colts are in must-win mode. Andrew Luck has fallen short in the first two games, but that undoubtedly comes to an end Sunday. Colts win this one by double digits.

2. Cowboys (1-1) at Rams (1-1) (-0.5)

Yes, you read that correctly. I am LOCKING IN the Dallas Cowboys to win. The Rams' quarterback situation is a nightmare right now, despite them coming back to beat the Bucs in Week 2. Tony Romo should have a big game on the road in the dome. This is a pick 'em, and it's impossible to pick the Rams right now with either Shaun Hill or Austin Davis under center. Dallas wins this one big.

3. Ravens (1-1) at Browns (1-1) (+1.5)

The Browns may have ended many survivor pools last week with their upset over the Saints. That won't happen this week. The Ravens are a better team than people are giving them credit for. They had a very impressive performance against the Steelers in Week 2, and they have had plenty of rest to prepare for Cleveland. I'm not buying into the Brian Hoyer hype just yet. The Ravens go on the road and win a close one.

LOCK: RAVENS

4. Vikings (1-1) at Saints (0-2) (-10.5)

The Vikings are nothing short of a disaster right now on and off the field. The Adrian Peterson saga has taken over the headlines, and without him on the field, it's going to be a long day in New Orleans. The Saints are in must-win mode after getting off to a 0-2 start. They are going to come out of the gates firing in front of their home fans Sunday. I fully expect this game to be a blowout. We should be seeing Teddy Bridgewater sooner rather than later for the Vikings.

LOCK: SAINTS

5. Chargers (1-1) at Bills (2-0) (-2.5)

I'm sorry but Bills fans may need to settle down. It's been an impressive 2-0 start to the season, but this team doesn't have the talent to keep it rolling. The Chargers are a better team and are riding high off a win over the defending champion Seahawks. The Chargers don't really got the attention they deserve with the Broncos in their division, but this could be a dangerous team in the AFC. The Bills will keep this a tight game in front of their pumped-up crowd, but the Chargers win by a field goal.
