Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Motorcycle In Romeoville

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- A man was fatally struck by a motorcycle in southwest suburban Romeoville Friday night.

Mark Stukel, 56, of Channahon, was walking in the area of Illinois Route 53 near Chambers Drive when he was struck by a motorcycle about 8:47 p.m., according to a statement from Romeoville police. The motorcycle, driven by a Bolingbrook man, was traveling northbound on Rte. 53.

Stukel was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police were investigating the crash Saturday morning.
