Man Killed In Back Of The Yards Shooting
(STMW) -- A man died after a shooting in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side early Saturday.
The 23-year-old was walking with another person about 6:15 a.m. in the 4500 block of South Hermitage when a dark-colored van pulled up and someone got out of the passenger side and opened fire, police said.
He was shot multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later was pronounced dead at 6:59 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. His name was withheld Saturday afternoon.
Police said the shooting was gang-related.
