Police: 2 Dead, 11 Wounded In Shootings Since Friday Evening

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men were killed and at least 11 other people were wounded in shootings across Chicago since 5 p.m. Friday, police said.

About 3 a.m. Saturday, a man was killed and three others were hurt in a shooting in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said.

The four men were inside a vehicle when they were shot in the 4400 block of West Van Buren, police said.

A 20-year-old man was shot in the face and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later died, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office had not yet been notified of the death.

A 23-year-old was also taken to Mount Sinai in critical condition with a gunshot wound to his back.

The two other men, 23 and 24, were taken to Stroger Hospital. The 23-year-old was in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the leg, while the condition had stabilized for the 24-year-old, who was shot in the buttocks, police said.

About 9:20 p.m. Friday, a 20-year-old man was outside in the 10600 block of South Yates when someone walked up and shot him in the head, police said.

He was taken to Trinity Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:50 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office. He was identified Saturday morning as Tony McIntosh, who lived on the block he was shot.

The most recent nonfatal shooting occurred about 4:30 a.m. in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.

A 20-year-old man was shot in the neck in the 7400 block of South Champlain, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

About 3:20 a.m., two men were shot in the Greektown neighborhood. The men, both 24, were both shot in the leg in the 800 block of West Jackson, police said. They were both taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions had stabilized.

At least five other people have been shot across the city since 5 p.m. Friday. Area detectives are investigating.
