Man Charged With Wrigleyville Beating, Attempted Robbery
(STMW) -- A man has been charged with beating and trying to rob a woman in Wrigleyville Friday morning.
Officers responding to a call for a well-being check about 5:20 a.m. in the 3300 block of North Sheffield found 28-year-old Ozzie Scott with the 25-year-old victim, according to a statement from police News Affairs.
Scott had battered and tried to rob the woman, who was found with facial injuries police said.
She was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in "serious, but stable" condition, police said.
Scott, of the 7100 block of South Cornell, was charged with one felony count each of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and attempted robbery, police said. He was scheduled to appear in bond court Saturday.
