Queen Latifah To Host The 'Hollywood Film Awards'

The first lady of rap has booked a huge gig!

Multi-talented Academy and Emmy Award-nominated, Golden Globe Award-winning actress, Grammy Award-winning musician and talk show host Queen Latifah will host the Hollywood Film Awards this year.

“I’m honored to be a part of such a legendary award show,” stated Latifah. “The Hollywood Film Awards have been a staple in the awards season for years, and I’m excited to be the first host to bring them to television!”

While this isn’t Queen Latifah’s first hosting job, it is the first time the Hollywood Film Awards will be aired on television since the inaugural ceremony 17 years ago.

As far as founder and executive producer of the awards show Carlos de Abreu is concerned, he couldn’t be more pleased.

“Queen Latifah is the real deal. She is a triple threat – she can act, she can sing, she can dance – she is beloved by audiences across multiple genres and she entertains millions of people every day,” said Jack Sussman, the Executive Vice President of Specials, Music and Live Events for CBS. “We look forward to having her as our host for the inaugural broadcast of the Hollywood Film Awards.”

Airing live Friday, Nov. 14 at 8:00PM ET/delayed PT from the Hollywood Palladium, the Hollywood Film Awards recognize excellence in cinema and filmmaking while celebrating the world’s biggest stars.
