(CBS) -- Kevin Sheppard's family is asking for your help to find out why he was killed. Crime Stoppers went door-to-door passing out flyers, hoping to generate new leads and information.

In September of 1984, the 27-year-old was walking in the 2500 block of North Orchard Street on his way home when someone shot him.

His family says they're consumed by the heartbreak and sorrow of not knowing why he was killed.

Sheppard'S sister's wedding was scheduled 12 days after his funeral.

Sheppard would have been 58-years-old Friday. There is a $1,000 reward to anyone who can help solve his murder.
