One Dead, One Wounded In Richton Park Shooting

RICHTON PARK, Ill. (CBS) -- The co-star of a Chicago-based web series was shot and killed Wednesday night in south suburban Richton Park.

CBS 2's Susanna Song reports police have said they know who they're looking for in the slaying of 32-year-old Henry Bailey, but have not said why they believe he was shot.

Bailey and a 33-year-old friend were sitting in a car near the AutoZone at Sauk Trail and Millard Avenue in Richton Park, when a gunman approached and opened fire.

Police responding to a report of shots fired around 7 p.m. found Bailey lying on the sidewalk outside the AutoZone. Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Henry was really vibrant. He was a sweet kid. He was in and out of my house; always mannerable," said Sherrell Swope, a family friend. "Very talented, could dance; he could sing, he was funny, just a sweet kid."

The other victim, who had been shot multiple times in the legs, had run to a nearby business for help. That man was treated and released from the hospital Thursday morning.

Bailey, a resident of the West Town neighborhood in Chicago, starred as "Slim" in the "Big and Slim" series on YouTube.

"Henry Bailey was indeed a talented individual and friend to work with, it is unfortunate that his craft was short lived," Puissant Productions CEO Tavores Johnson said in an email. "The cast /crew of his latest work 'Big and Slim" and Puissant Productions offer our thoughts and prayers to Henry's family, and all who were fortunate to share in what truly was a good life. At this time, we encourage everyone to allow us all close to Henry, express our grief privately as we bring closure to this tragic situation."

No one was in custody early Thursday, though police said they know who they're looking for, and hope to make an arrest soon,

"We don't have a reason to believe the public needs to worry. It does appear to be personal, but because it is still under investigation, I can't say for certain," Richton Park Police Chief Elvia Williams said.

Police said the shooting was not gang-related.
