Woman Charged With Stabbing Boyfriend To Death

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman has been charged with murder for the stabbing death of her boyfriend during a domestic dispute in south suburban Harvey early Sunday.

Toddrique McKinnor, 40, was stabbed during a fight with his girlfriend, 45-year-old Lasoyna Steward, in the 1000 block of West 157th Place in Harvey, according to Harvey police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

McKinnor and Steward were arguing about her missing wallet at the time of the stabbing, Harvey spokesman Sean Howard said.

McKinnor, of the 14700 block of South Seeley Avenue, was taken to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, where he died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, the medical examiner's office said.

An autopsy Monday found he died of a stab wound to the neck and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner's office said.

Steward turned herself in to police at 12:23 p.m. Monday and has been charged with first-degree murder for McKinnor's death, Howard said. Steward is expected to appear in bond court Tuesday.
