Derrick Rose Will Sit Out Against Pacers

By Cody Westerlund-

(CBS) Bulls point guard Derrick Rose won't play tonight against the Pacers as he deals with a mild left hamstring strain, Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau said this morning.

"He's better today, but he'll be out tonight," Thibodeau said. "It's day to day. He's a lot better today than he was yesterday. We'll just see how it goes."

Rose injured his hamstring with about two minutes left in Thursday's win at Toronto when he drove to the hoop. He sat out the rest of the game.

Rose has played in five of of Chicago's nine games this season as he makes a comeback from successive season-ending knee injuries. He's also been dealing with two sprained ankles recently.

"As soon as he's ready, (he'll play)," Thibodeau said. "If he needs time, we're going to give him time. We just got to be patient."

Kirk Hinrich will likely start in Rose's place.

Rose is averaging 18.0 points per game on 43 percent shooting. The Bulls play the Clippers on Monday night in Los Angeles.

The Bulls are 7-2, tied for the best record in the East. The Pacers are 3-7.
