Derrick Rose, Pau Gasol Won't Play Against Kings

(CBS) The Bulls will once again be without point guard Derrick Rose and big man Pau Gasol when they play the Kings tonight in Sacramento.

Rose will sit out his third straight game with a left hamstring strain, while Gasol will sit out his second straight game with a left calf strain, according to multiple reports. In arguably their best performance of the season, the Bulls beat the Clippers, 105-89, on Monday night as the duo sat out.

The Bulls have been extremely cautious -- and understandably so -- with Rose as makes his comeback from successive season-ending knee injuries and as he dealt with a pair of sprained ankles earlier in the season. Tonight will mark the seventh game Rose misses this season. He injured his left hamstring on a drive to the hoop last Thursday at Toronto, and sitting him this entire week has been discussed, the Tribune's K.C. Johnson has reported.

Gasol will be missing his second game of the season.

Kirk Hinrich and Taj Gibson will likely start in place of Rose and Gasol.

Chicago is 8-3. Sacramento is 6-5.

After facing the Kings, the Bulls are on the road against the Blazers on Friday.
