Wisconsin RB Gordon, Ohio State QB Barrett Picked All-Big Ten

ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) -- Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon and Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett were selected first-team, all-Big Ten and took top individual honors at their positions.

Both players led their teams to this week's conference championship game in Indianapolis.

Gordon leads the nation with a Big Ten-record 2,260 yards rushing for the Badgers (10-2, 7-1), who won the West division title. He also held the FBS single-game record for one week, running for 408 yards against Nebraska last month before Oklahoma's Samaje Perine put up 427 against Kansas.

The Buckeyes (11-1, 8-0) took the East, with Barrett throwing for 2,834 yards with a school-record 34 touchdowns before breaking his ankle Saturday. He has also run for 938 yards and 11 touchdowns, giving him a school-record total of 3,772 total yards.

Gordon and Barrett were chosen Monday as first-team picks by both the coaches and a media panel. In addition to the 12 individual awards already revealed, the remaining five trophy winners will be announced on Tuesday.

Gordon, Barrett, Indiana running back Tevin Coleman, Michigan State receiver Tony Lippett, Nebraska receiver Kenny Bell, Michigan State center Jack Allen, Ohio State guard Pat Elflein, Wisconsin guard Kyle Costigan, Iowa tackle Brandon Scherff, Wisconson tackle Rob Havenstein, Minnesota tight end Maxx Williams and Maryland kicker Brad Craddock were all first-team picks by the coaches. On defense, they selected linemen Shilique Calhoun of Michigan State, Randy Gregory of Nebraska, Joey Bosa of Ohio State and Anthony Zettel of Penn State; linebackers Jake Ryan of Michigan, Mike Hull of Penn State and Derek Landisch of Wisconsin; defensive backs William Likely of Maryland, Kurtis Drummond of Michigan State, Trae Waynes of Michigan State and Doran Grant of Ohio State; and punter Peter Mortell of Minnesota.

The media selected Barrett, Coleman, Gordon, Lippett, Rutgers receiver Leonte Carroo, Allen, Minnesota guard Zac Epping, Costigan, Scherff, Havenstein, Williams and Craddock on offense. On defense, they picked Calhoun, Gregory, Bosa, Zettel, Ryan, linebacker Damien Wilson of Minnesota, Hull, Likely, defensive back Briean Boddy-Calhoun of Minnesota, Drummond, Waynes and Mortell.
