Donors Give Money, Horses To Crystal Lake Family Losing 32 Horses After Barn Fire
(CBS) -- The Crystal Lake family that lost 32 horses in a stable fire last week is awash in generosity as they try to move on, reports WBBM's Bob Roberts.
It is Amber Bauman's birthday. She stopped at Barrington Saddlery to pick up supplies and walked out with a van load of blankets, helmets and other goods.
Bauman says like anyone who has been thrown by a horse, there is a time to get back on. Some are offering donations online and others have offered horse.
"We have horses coming in from all across the country that some gracious people have donated to us and we need to move forward," Bauman said. "We need to get back on."
Bauman says she still wakes up at night crying and has a horse trailer blocking the kitchen view of Valley View Farm's burned out barn, which still smolders.
