Loyola Of Chicago Beats UIC 77-67

CHICAGO (AP) — Milton Doyle scored 19 points with eight assists and four rebounds as Loyola of Chicago-Illinois beat the University of Illinois at Chicago 77-67 on Saturday.

Christian Thomas had 17 points and seven rebounds for the Ramblers (5-2). Earl Peterson added 12 points from the bench.

The team sank 54.5 percent from the field and 78.8 percent from the free throw line.

The Ramblers wrapped up a low-scoring first period with an 8-2 run to lead 31-23 at the break. They then opened a 57-46 advantage on a 10-4 run midway through the second with Doyle, Thomas and Peterson combining to go 6 of 6 from the line.

Paris Burns came off the bench to lead the Flames (2-7) with 26 points, 24 of which came in the second half. UIC averaged 37.5 percent from the field, 59.3 percent from the line and sank just 3 of 20 3-point attempts.
