Police Seek Help Identifying Suspect In NW Suburban Gas Station Robbery

(CBS) Police are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect in an armed robbery of a gas station in unincorporated Palatine early Monday morning.

The Cook County Sheriff's office say a man armed with a handgun and dressed in a red jacket and a red cap walked up to the counter of a gas station in the 1400 block of N. Quentin Road. Police say the robber escaped with cash and cigarettes before fleeing the gas station.

Police describe the robber as a black male of medium build, between 5-feet 8-inches to 5-feet 10-inches tall. The offender was also wearing a gray scarf/mask, gloves and dark pants in addition to the red jacket and cap.

The suspect is believed to have been involved in another gas station armed robbery in Schaumburg gas station earlier that morning and is possible connected to armed robberies in Park Ridge and Prospect Heights.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cook County Sheriff's Police at 708-865-4896.
