CFD Honors Two Fallen Firefighters

(CBS) -- A wall inside the Chicago Fire Department Academy now bears the names of two firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Bagpipers played at a ceremony Saturday to remember firefighters Patrick Hannon and Walter Patmon.

Fire Commissioner Jose Santiago unveiled their badges in the academy's honor case.

Walter Patmon had a heart attack at his firehouse in November of 2012 and died a short time later.

Lieutenant Patrick Hannon died in January 2011. Fellow firefighters found him unconscious after they returned from four separate fires.

The families of both Hannon and Patmon attended the ceremony. Their names were also added to inscribed stones at the McCormick Place Firefighter Memorial Park.
