Chicago Man In Prison For Two Decades Hopes For Clemency Request From Gov. Quinn
(CBS) -- Among the thousands of people hoping for a Christmas present from Governor Quinn in the form of clemency is a Chicago man who's been in prison for more than two decades, reports WBBM's Nancy Harty.
Tyrone Hood has, since his conviction for the 1993 murder of an IIT basketball player, maintained he didn't do it. His petition for a pardon based on actual innocence is one of the thousands of clemency requests before the governor.

Attorney Gayle Horn says she spoke to her 51-year-old client last week from the Menard Correctional Center.
"He's just trying to maintain his optimism generally speaking, notwithstanding he has been in prison for the past 21 years for a crime he did not commit," Horn said.
Hood's case is due back in court on January 5 following an investigation by the Cook County State's Attorney's new conviction integrity unit.
