Teens Throw Cement Rock, Injure 7-Year-Old, Police Say

(CBS) -- Chicago Police are looking for three teenage boys who threw a piece of cement and hit a child on the city's South Side earlier this week.

Police say the 7-year-old boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, WBBM Newsradio's Steve Miller reports.

The child was in a car with his family, police say, when three boys between the ages of 13 and 18 started throwing things at the car. A cement rock hit the boy in the head.

This was a little after 8 Tuesday night in the 1500 block of West 46th Street, near Ashland.

Area Central Police are investigating.
