Texas-Pan American Beats Chicago State 64-59

EDINBURG, Texas (AP) — Shaquille Boga scored 17 points, Shaquille Hines added 15 and Texas-Pan American defeated Chicago State 64-59 in the Western Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Saturday night.

Janari Joesaar hit all 11 of his free throws to finish with 14 points and five assists for the Broncs (7-9, 1-0), while Dan Kimasa chipped in 12 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. UT-Pan American shot 43.9 percent from the field and had 16 assists on 18 field goals.

Joshua Meier paced Chicago State (4-14, 0-1) with 17 points and 10 rebounds, Trayvon Palmer had 17 points with eight boards and Clarke Rosenberg contributed 10 points. The Cougars, who are 0-11 on the road this season, had a 40-23 rebounding advantage and scored 20 second-chance points.

Kimasa sank a layup to give the Broncs a 60-55 lead with 2:33 remaining and UT-Pan American sealed it with four late free throws.
