Kubiak Staying With Ravens, Won't Seek Bears Coaching Job

CHICAGO (CBS/AP) -- Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak is staying put in Baltimore, rather than seeking a head coaching job elsewhere, including the open position with the Bears.

Newly hired Bears general manager Ryan Pace and the organization reportedly were prepared to make a "major push" to bring Kubiak to Chicago, but the Ravens announced Sunday night he decided not to leave Baltimore.

"It is flattering and humbling to be invited to interview for a number of NFL head coaching positions ... but I have decided to stay with the Ravens," Kubiak said in a statement released by the Ravens.

Kubiak joined the Ravens as offensive coordinator this season, coaching them to a franchise record for points in the regular season. He previously served eight years as head coach of the Houston Texans.

Several teams, including the Bears, had sought to interview him for head coach openings, but Kubiak said he wants to stay with the Ravens.
