Evanston Newsstand To Import Fast-Selling Charlie Hebdo Edition

(CBS) -- If you want a personal copy of controversial French magazine Charlie Hebdo's special issue, it could be in Chicago by next week.

WBBM Newsradio's Mariam Sobh reports.

Evanston-based Chicago-Main Newsstand is expecting a shipment soon from a supplier in Canada.

Charlie Hebdo Edition Coming To Chicago

The cover of this week's issue features a drawing of the Prophet Muhammad on the cover.

Newsstand manager Eric Ismond says the response has been positive, and he doesn't expect any backlash.

"Some people want to support the publication, some people, they want to have it in hand to collect it. There's any number of reasons why people would want it. We're trying to fulfill that need," Ismond says.

The special issue will most likely be the French language version and Ismond says he expects the magazines to arrive sometime next week.

The latest edition follows the shooting deaths of several staff members by Islamic extremists in Paris.
