Report: Jake Arrieta, Cubs Reach 1-Year, $3.6M Deal

(CBS) The Cubs have avoided arbitration with right-hander Jake Arrieta by agreeing to a one-year, $3.63-million deal, CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman reported Friday.

Arrieta was 10-5 with a 2.53 ERA

he salary represents a raise of more than $3 million for Arrieta, who posted a 10-5 record and 2.53 ERA and 0.99 WHIP last season with the Cubs. The salary represents more than a $3 million raise for Arrieta. He made $500,000 last season, according to baseball-reference.com.

Pitchers Travis Wood and Pedro Strop and infielder Luis Valbuena are the Cubs' last three arbitration-eligible players who need signed.
