Preschool Worker Charged With Molesting Two Children

(CBS) -- A 25-year-old preschool worker allegedly molested children under his care at a South Loop facility, authorities say.

Jian Feng is accused of inappropriately touching two 3-year-old girls on multiple occasions while they were in his care, Chicago police said. Feng was charged with four felony counts of predatory criminal sexual assault.

The alleged offenses occurred at the Near South Side Child Development Center, 2214 S. Federal, operated by Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago.

"Our first priority is the care and safety of our children. We conduct our background checks in strict conformity with federal, state and local guidelines. In addition, we perform our own screenings on an ongoing basis.  We are continuing to cooperate with authorities," an Easter Seals spokesperson said in a written statement.

Feng was being jailed Saturday without bail, the Cook County Sheriff's Department said.

The state's Department of Children and Family Services was also investigating, a spokesperson said.
