State Disbars 6 Attorneys, Disciplines 17 Others
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The state of Illinois has just disbarred six lawyers and has taken disciplinary action against 17 others.
Among the disbarments by the Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission:
A Rosemont lawyer was accused of misappropriating more than 900-thousand dollars in clients' money.
A LaGrange Park lawyer was accused of misappropriating half a million dollars.
A Chicago lawyer, Jordan Lee Margolis, was accused of forging clients' names and misappropriating more than $1 million.
And a Clinton, Illinois, attorney was disbarred after she pleaded guilty to delivering a controlled substance near a school.
