Police: Children Stop Home Invasion, Sex Assault

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man who broke into a home and tried to sexually assault a woman fled after children interrupted the attack, police said.

The noise from the intruder, who who was threatening to assault the woman, woke the sleeping children.

The attack happened around 4:40 a.m. Thursday in the 2900 block of West 25th Street.

The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black gym shoes, police said.

The man is believed to be around 30 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches, and 130 pounds.

The suspect's hair color, eye color and complexion are unknown, police said.
