Rogers Park Man Charged In Evanston Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Rogers Park man has been charged in connection with a shooting in north suburban Evanston that left two men wounded Monday afternoon.
Andre Williams, 26, of the 1600 block of West Juneway, was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm, according to Evanston police.
About 2 p.m. Monday, and 18-year-old man and 20-year-old man were shot while in a vehicle near the intersection of Custer and Brummel streets, Evanston police said.
The men, both from Evanston, were taken to Provena St. Francis Hospital. The 18-year-old was shot in the knee and the other man suffered a graze wound. Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, police said.
The 20-year-old left the hospital before officers arrived or receiving treatment, police said.
Using surveillance cameras, Evanston police were able to find a vehicle used in the shooting in the 7700 block of North Paulina, police said.
A bond court date has not yet been set for Williams, police said.
