Icy Conditions Close Parts Of Lakefront Trail

(CBS) -- The temperatures are playing in role in a portion of the Lakefront Trail blocked off from North Avenue to Oak Street.

CBS 2's Jeremy Ross reports the terrain is too rocky and slippery for runners and bikers, but others are actually drawn to it.

What's not frozen in the lake washes up and ices over parts of the Lakefront Trail. The park district blocked off a portion for safety, but some can't help but look, record and admire,

The city says they'll send workers out and have this path back open by Wednesday. That's good news for runners and bikers. No doubt they'll be using extra layers of clothing if they'll be using the path by then.
