Cal State Bakersfield Pulls Away From Chicago State, 64-51

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) — Javonte Maynor scored 21 points and Cal State Bakersfield ran away from Chicago State in the second half to score a 64-51 victory Thursday night.

The Roadrunners (11-16, 6-5 Western Athletic Conference) held a five-point lead at intermission, and Maynor opened the second half by knocking down a pair of 3-pointers to bookend an 11-2 run that ballooned the lead to 39-25. Cortez Conners knocked down a 3-pointer with 2:03 left to make it a 16-point lead.

Maynor was 7 of 12 from the field, including 5 of 10 from beyond the arc. Conners was 5 of 7 from distance and finished with 17 points for Bakersfield, which collectively shot 23 of 46 from the field (50 percent) and 11 of 20 from beyond the arc.

Jawad Adekoya scored 15 points to lead Chicago State (6-21, 2-8), which shot just 36.5 percent from the field (19 of 52) and was 10 of 23 from distance.
