Snow In Forecast For Afternoon, Evening

By John Dodge

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Tuesday night's election results gave Chicago six more weeks of political campaigning, and, from the looks of the weather forecast, the city might have a similar amount of winter left, as well.

The National Weather Service says light now will develop across Northern Illinois on Wednesday afternoon and blanket most of the Chicago area and Northwest Indiana by this evening.

The snow will taper overnight, and forecasters expect one to three inches to fall.

Lake effect snow is possible in Chicago and Northwest Indiana on Thursday as well.

February is shaping up to be one of the coldest on record.
