Man Charged With Possessing Assault Weapons After Barricade Situation

(STMW) --A man has been charged with illegally having assault weapons after he barricaded himself inside his Lake View home early Saturday on the North Side.
Daniel Rice, 28, was involved in a domestic-related argument, then barricaded himself inside his home in the 1400 block of West Cornelia about 3:15 a.m., police said. He was believed to be alone in the home.
A few hours later, he turned himself in to authorities and was hospitalized, police said. No one was injured.
Rice was charged with a city violation of possessing assault weapons and is next scheduled to appear in court April 15.
