FBI: Hometown Bank Robbery Is Suspect's Third

(STMW) -- A man who robbed a southwest suburban Hometown bank Friday morning is suspected of two other Southwest Side bank robberies throughout the last several months.

Friday's robbery occurred at 10:24 a.m. at the U.S. Bank branch at 4062 Southwest Highway in Hometown, according to the FBI.

The same man is also suspected of robbing the U.S. Bank branch at 3525 W. 63rd St. about 2:50 p.m. on Nov. 28 and again at 10:51 a.m. on Jan. 3, the FBI said.

He is described as a 6-foot-tall black man between 25 and 30 years old with a thin build, the FBI said. He wore a black jacket and a baseball cap in one of the robberies and a black-and-white winter hat in the other.

The man showed a handgun during at least one of the bank robberies, the FBI said.
