Pedestrian Killed, 3 Injured In West Garfield Park Crash: Police

(STMW) -- A pedestrian was killed and three other people injured in a crash Thursday afternoon in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

A vehicle in the 300 block of South Pulaski struck the pedestrian, then several parked vehicles, about 1:20 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said, citing preliminary information.

The pedestrian, whose age was not immediately available, was take to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Lemmon said.

The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

The driver and a passenger in the vehicle were taken to Stroger Hospital, and a second passenger was taken to Mount Sinai, police said. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The hospitalized driver is in custody and charges are pending, police said.
