Woodstock Mother Charged With Prostitution

(CBS) – A 29-year-old Woodstock mother has been charged with prostitution following a sting by local police.

Woodstock police say they opened an investigation in October 2014 after receiving several anonymous complaints of "suspicious activity" at a local apartment building.

On Thursday, undercover officers contacted Sheila E. Johnston, who allegedly agreed to perform sexual acts in exchange for money, according to a Woodstock Police news release. Two of Johnston's minor children – aged 5 and 10 -- were at home at the time of the solicitation, authorities said.

Another child, 8, was at school, authorities said.

Johnston was charged with one count of prostitution, two counts of endangering the life and health of a child and misdemeanor offenses, police said. She posted $150 bond and is due in court in McHenry County on April 26.
