Man Charged With Shooting At Two Women In Back Of The Yards

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A South Side man charged with shooting two women earlier this year in the Back of the Yards neighborhood has been ordered held on a $250,000 bond.

David Ochoa, 20, faces two felony counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm on an occupied vehicle for the Jan. 23 attack, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

About 10:20 p.m. that night, Ochoa opened fire on two women, ages 20 and 21, in the 4400 block of South Marshfield Avenue, police said.

The older woman was shot in the leg and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition. The other woman suffered graze wounds to the hand and buttocks and declined medical treatment, police said.

Ochoa, of the 4800 block of South Laflin Street, was ordered held on a $250,000 bond and will next appear in court Thursday, court records show.
