Stray Bullet Hits TV Inside Palatine Man's Condo

(CBS) -- Palatine Police say a stray bullet broke the window of a condominium resident - and ended up in his television.

Police Commander Mike Seebacher says no one was injured and he does not believe the resident was targeted.

He says another resident of the same development about a block away heard popping noises a little after 2 p.m. and then saw two men running away.

Seebacher says police took the TV back to the police station and hope to eventually trace the bullet to the gun that fired it.

This happened in the Hidden Creek subdivision in Palatine.

Comm. Seebacher says police believe the shot was fired near the 1700 block of East Shannon Lane and ended up in a unit in the 1700 block of Hudson Bay.

The men seen running away are between 18 and 22 years old, Seebacher says. One wore a red and black jacket and the other wore a dark jacket with camouflage pants.
