"April the 7th will give us an opportunity to take Chicago back, to redirect the direction of the city of Chicago, to embrace Chicago neighborhoods and to usher in a new era of neighborhood revitalization," Garcia said.

Across town, Mayor Rahm Emanuel was hosting a "Running with Rahm" event and was having lunch with seniors. On Friday, as he was endorsed by Black ministers, he said here is why this election is important.

"Who has what it takes to have both the policies, the plan, and the perseverance, and to get the job done both here in the city of Chicago bit also in Springfield and Washington? And that will be clear," Emanuel said.
